Pugs Fawn, Black or White?
- The Kennel Club in the UK recognises four standard colours for pugs:
fawn, apricot, silver and black. - However, only two colours, fawn and black, are recognised by the American Kennel Club and in an article on standard and non-standard pug colours, Susan of the Black Pug Website covers, fawn, black, apricot, grey/silver, smuttiness and brindle. She also has a specific article about White and Albino pugs.
- To get your fill of the wide variation of pug colours just do a Google search for "pug colour images"
The most poplular pug is the fawn pug with it's black mouth, eyes, wrinkles and floppy ears but there are also black pugs and perhaps controversially, white pugs. Please visit "Hug A Pug A Day" on Facebook and upload photos of your pug for everyone to admire. You can also suggest additions/omissions from this site and we will update it periodically.
